Ice-cream Spinner Game Printable

This fun FREE printable game practises objects associated with hot weather and cold weather. Build up your ice cream to win!

For the spinner, you can use a split-pin and paper clip, a pencil, a fidget spinner, or make your own DIY spinner. See this post for more details on how to make your own DIY spinners for games!

How to make and play the Ice-cream Spinner Game:

To make the game you need:

Cardstock for printers
Crayons, play dough or dry erase markers to mark the cards
Split pins and paper clips (or a fidget spinner) to make the spinner.
A way to laminate game pieces (not essential but highly recommended)

This game is designed for 4-8 year-olds. The DIY spinner requires small parts which may constitute a choking hazard.

Always supervise young children when playing with DIY spinners.

Instructions:

Choose the spinner size of your choice. Use the larger disc with a fidget spinner. You can use the smaller disc with a paper clip and a split pin or a pencil. Print the spinner disc on white card for best results, colour and cut out. Laminate if you want.

Print as many game boards as you want on card or normal printer paper. You can colour the frames and laminate the boards if you want to re-use them.

Give one game board to each player. Take it in turns to spin the spinner. If the spinner lands on a hot weather object, the player can colour one of the scoops of ice cream, or place a blob of play-dough on it. If the spinner lands on a cold weather object, play passes to the next player. The first one to complete their ice cream wins!

If you’re playing the play-dough version, you can make the game more difficult by removing a blob of play-dough from the ice cream if you land on a cold weather word!
